(Special Educational Needs)
There are many different types of established SEND schools and services across England. They range from maintained SEN schools, non-maintained special schools, charitable schools right through to the independent sector and alternative providers.
Working and being successful in SEND schools requires candidates who possess a passion for making a difference, as well as empathy and sensitivity. Teaching and support staff in SEND schools work largely with much smaller classes than in mainstream and usually with a significantly higher staff to student ratio.
LCJ has a specialist SEN consultant who liaises closely with both mainstream and special schools to identify staff and vacancies for those looking for a rewarding and challenging career.
